TSODILO HILLS
According to the !Kung legend, a long time ago, when rocks
were still soft and animals could talk, Isodilo hills was a family
made up of husband, wife and two children. There was
conflict between the husband and wife. The wife then divorced
the husband and moved away with both children. The younger
child later on returned to the father whilst the older child
remained near the mother. This is why today we found them
in the form of hills in their positions and their names; Male,
Female and the Child.
The name Tsodilo means damp earth in !Kung.
Tsodilo Hills are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consistingof
rock art, rock shelters, depressions, and caves. UNESCO
estimates there are over 4500 rock paintings at the site.
