SOSSUSVLEI INFORMATION
Sossusvlei is one of Namibia’s most scenic attractions and is visited by thousands of visitors each year. Bookings
at all accommodation establishments, be it formal or camping, should be made well in advance. Protection
against the sun is important. Start early and take enough refreshments along for a day of dune climbing.
Sedan vehicles can only proceed to as far as the parking area 5km from Sossusvlei. This section of the Namib
Naukluft Park is open from sunrise to sunset throughout the year. Sesriem offers only camping sites, a petrol
station and a small kiosk. The office hours are from sunrise to 13h00 and 14h00 to sunset. It is recommended
that at least two nights are allocated for this magnificent attraction.
